J e was pleasantly surprised to see an exhibition of Jean Michel Basquiat at the Fondazione Bevilaqua La Mesa arriving in Venice at the 48th Biennial of Art where I exhibited my paintings .

I did not know I had to weld a post-mortem spiritual connection with this "new child" of contemporary painting that transformed the true stories of everyday into a kind of Writing code that invites us to decipher our fears, to break down the walls of our thoughts locked to make our way to the heart of the paradoxes of life.

Basquiat was born in 1960 of a Haitian father and a mother Puerto Rican. He has always lived in Brooklyn where he became familiar with the museums, reading, cartoons and music from an early age. Rimbaud as a drunk with freedom, Basquiat was chosen as an initiation of wandering in the four corners of the city, space and myth without forgetting the dark corridors and illuminated his body when found in human history and his bite still rebels.

I was mesmerized by his painting with strong lines using a composition rich in vocabulary which rattled signs and symbols as "Boat People" embarked on a journey unknown ready to brave the sea in fury and winds grimacing.

Universes opposed mingle between chemical formulas, text and scarred bones hallucinants.Tout that wears this crown omnipresent in his work representing gold, royal, sky, size, victory. One may wonder if it is inappropriate to discuss here the image of the crown, symbolizing the spiritual initiation that binds the universal hierarchy and minds of Africa which he called the Great Prince, who returns to Picasso's art to give his original letter of nobility.

His heroin addiction could lead us to interpret at first glance his paintings as a place of wandering hallucinatory, it was his field and his ability to invent a primitive form of writing that emerges as a particularly sophisticated symbolic expression. Rebellious symbolism, through his writings that haunted the dark walls of New York as the key to life seeking to preserve the sky in the middle of so much horror, suffering and exploitation.

As worthy son of Toussaint Louverture, the Personality Heroic story of Haiti that initiates the abolition del'esclavage, Basquiat was very concerned by the tragedy that was the slave trade to the African continent and for the black race worldwide. He denounced what phenomenon resulting from colonialism that has global scope, economic, political, social and ecological and scored so far the evolution of humanity. Lombart Paul in his article entitled "No requiem for Jean Michel Basquiat" says: "In this dark New York and barbaric Basquiat led his wandering through the anguish and bitterness of a country where children are killing each other in schools because civilization is ruthless profit for a youth who has lost his bearings and, alas, is recognized in Cannery teaser Andy Warhol.

Through their collaborations and events they undertook in the community very posh art world, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol were engaged in a relentless fight against violence.

What mystery boxes contain these raw wood invested a black Madonna nursing her child or a head of Baron Saturday, King Cemetery, alongside a text by Leonardo da Vinci. Mirror cube where Basquiat is represented as a caricature often wearing the royal Dique solar as a Pharaoh scrutinizing their own protests around the city sleeps. Basquiat, the painter nomadic to sedentary forward in his delirium lyric one last message as if it sensed that one day they would have to be sought in these drawings, these codewords and obliterated the paths of wisdom necessary for their future.

Writing labyrinthine Basquiat which springs from the lush colors and images tragicomic leads us to probe relentlessly our smallest secrets unique to our survival and existence. He tells us the inner journey of a man searching for his truth in a world dominated by money and power. In Basquiat's painting can not move straight, reading is rather large spiral as in the Haitian novelist Frankétienne where everything is interconnected. We have to accept to get lost in the corridors as Venice and to retrace his steps with all senses on the lookout for signs bearing the essential wisdom of the future.

Off the lamp turns off by changing the direction of the night.
